John's PizzERIA

Whole Pies Only

It may be called a “New York pizzeria,” but don’t go looking for a standing table where you’ll quickly scarf-down a slice.   In fact, there are no pizzas-by-the-slice!

John’s Pizzeria is a sit-down restaurant where the motto is “whole pies only” — but wow, are they good! Fired in 800-degree coal-fired ovens with no temperature control, the pizza makers are highly trained to ensure that every pizza comes out delicious and perfectly cooked.

The restaurant itself is situated in a desanctified church whose stained-glass ceiling remains — so be sure to look up!

The reasonably-priced also menu features a large array of salads (large enough to share), pasta dishes and desserts, as well as a small wine list and full bar.  No reservations are accepted so plan on a wait — especially on matinée days.
