The first thing you should know about Waitress is that you will be craving pie when you leave the show! To induct theatre-goers into the diner setting of the show, the Brooks-Atkinson Theatre cleverly (or cruelly?) pumps the smell of baking pie into the lobby — so it’s challenging to avoid this sensation of wanting a fresh-baked pie (see our 3 Tips below about how to satisfy this inevitable craving).
But it’s the Sara Bareilles score for Waitress that you’ll be taking “to go” by the time you exit the show. The music is catchy, fun, emotional and ultimately inspiring.
Following the story of a diner waitress looking for a way out of her abusive marriage, the show is filled with a winning set of side characters who add moments of both romance and laugh-out-loud humor, which help punctuate the pathos of the main story-line.
The show will leave you feeling positive about life, ready to take on the world — and looking for the closest diner to talk the show over with your friends. (…although you might prefer to belly-up to the bar at the chic Glass House Tavern next door to the theatre, where the cast is known to frequently hang-out…They also now serve pie!)

When you enter the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, the first thing you’ll notice is: the smell of pie! Then there’s numerous pies on-stage. Fear not: the bar at the theatre sells bite-size pies in mini jars for $12! (Key Lime!)
You smelled the pies… you saw them on stage… you ate them at intermission — but it’s still not enough?! Now there’s a Waitress cookbook for when you’re home from your Theatre Weekend.

The winner of 10 Tony Awards® including Best Musical, The Band’s Visit is now one of the most Tony Award-winning musicals in history. It rejoices in the way music brings us to life, brings us to laughter, brings us to tears, and ultimately, brings us together.
It’s showtime, folks! Beetlejuice is ruder, raunchier and frankly, more repellent than ever in this original musical based on Tim Burton’s wonderfully demented film. Directed by Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!)
