I'm not sure why, but it took me nearly a year-and-a-half to work KINKY BOOTS into a Theatre Weekend trip -- it became that Broadway staple that would always be there for "the next trip"... Don't make my mistake -- it is a GREAT show worthy of being included in your first Theatre Weekend! KINKY BOOTS manages to somehow address many of the topics we're all talking about over the dinner table these days while remaining wildy entertaining: race equality, gender identity, and even trade relations and the challenging economics of manufacturing goods in the tech age are all here. With a clever, heart-felt script by Tony® winner Harvey Fierstein, and catchy songs by Grammy® and Tony® winner Cyndi Lauper, KINKY BOOTS will literally have you on your feet (in thigh-high boots?) by the end of the show.
